Shaunie Baumann MCPod BSc(Hons) MSc (Sports Module)

Specialist Podiatry | Nail Surgery | Biomechanics | Gait Analysis | Orthotics

Shaunie spent her early life in South Africa, where she was active and outdoors from a young age, trying her hand at a wide range of sports and excelling in many. This gave her first-hand insight into injury, movement and the fascinating world of biomechanics.

Following an earlier Diploma from the Sports Science Institute in South Africa in 2000, Shaunie qualified in 2004 from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, with a BSc(Hons) in Podiatry.

With more than 25 years in clinical practice in both NHS and private practice, Shaunie enjoys all aspects of podiatry, with a particular interest in nail surgery, musculoskeletal conditions, biomechanics, gait analysis and orthotics, particularly in relation to the foot and ankle.

As an Advanced Specialist Podiatrist, she worked for many years within both a large Central London NHS Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, working closely alongside leading Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Surgeons and Physiotherapists. This has given her extensive experience in assessing and treating complex foot and lower-limb conditions, as well as understanding how movement and biomechanics can contribute to pain and injury.

Shaunie has an excellent understanding of conditions affecting the foot, ankle and lower limb. She also has a special interest in podo-paediatrics (children’s feet), particularly helping children feel comfortable and at ease during their appointments.

Above all, Shaunie believes it is important that her patients feel listened to and understood. She aims to provide expert, evidence-based care in a friendly, relaxed and welcoming environment, taking the time to understand each patient and develop an individual treatment plan.
